Parent Information
Once you've been offered a place at KCC and have worked out your
start date we'll talk to you about settling your child in.
We encourage you to bring your child in at least twice before enrolment
commences. This ensures that your child is familiar and comfortable
with the Centre which results in a smoother transition.
A healthy lunch, morning and afternoon tea are provided by our
cook, take a look at a sample menu.
Parents need to supply nappies if required and a labelled change
of clothes.
Daily Routine
KCC is open from 7.45am - 5.45pm. The day is broken into two sessions,
AM commencing at 7:45 to 12:45 and PM commencing 1:00pm to 5:45pm.
7.45 - Doors open – Children are welcomed and enjoy
free play of their choice. This play may include, play-dough,
painting, collage, drawing, reading or dress ups to name a few.
8:30am -Children are gathered in the family corner for
constructive play. This type of play builds on language, communication
and cognitive skills
9:30am - Morning tea – fruits, breads, milk &
water
10:00am - Early sleepers take a rest while other children
have story time or outdoor play.
11:30am - Lunch served for under two’s (Cooked meals
are provided each day – all meals include fruit or vegetables)
– music time for over two’s.
12:00-1:00pm - Lunch served for over two’s with rest
or sleep time for sleepers. A quiet time is encouraged through
listening to music or a teacher reading a story.
1:30pm - Outdoor play or front room drama. On occasion
children may partake in baking for afternoon tea and develop their
culinary art skills.
2:30pm - Afternoon tea – fruits, baking, milk &
water
2:45pm - Children choose activities they would like to
play at. This time is also used for outdoor play or walks.
3:30pm - Large group story time with outdoor play or front
room activities.
4:30pm - Snack time
4:45pm - Free play time – music time
5:45pm - Centre closes
